Course brief

Performance management is a method of connecting the organisation’s objectives to the people that are individually responsible for carrying them out and achieving them.  This course will use concepts and tools that many employees will already be familiar with, and which are intended to establish the link between individual performance, and the wider corporate goals for which the organisation exists.

Key areas that this course will cover include the following:

  • Critical leadership competences

  • Managing the team

  • Optimising group and personal efficiency

  • Setting performance objectives

  • Developing measurable performance criteria

  • Performance evaluation

  • Performance review

  • Handling conflict and less than satisfactory performance

By the end of learning activities on this course, participants should be able to:

i. ​Navigate team dynamics and how they impact individual and collective performance.

ii. ​Set clear performance goals for both teams and individuals.

iii. ​Motivate and inspire team members to achieve their maximum potential.

iv. ​Build on individual accountability to foster a high-performance culture.

v. ​Support established performance management processes through more effective feedback, coaching and performance review.

vi. ​Optimise personal time management and day-to-day productivity.

vii. ​ Handle conflict and less than satisfactory performance without negatively impacting team productivity and morale.
